In Person Brown Bag with U.S. Ninth Circuit Judge Patrick Bumatay

Judge Patrick J. Bumatay was confirmed as a Judge with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in December 2019. Prior to his appointment, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California and as counselor to the U.S. Attorney General, as well as Counsel and Senior Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General, and Special Assistant and Counsel in the Office of Legal Policy. He was engaged in private practice and clerked for Judge Sandra Townes of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and Judge Timothy Tymkovich of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. Judge Bumatay graduated cum laude from Yale College and received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. During the Brown Bag Luncheon, Judge Bumatay will discuss practice pointers for civil and criminal cases and his path to the federal bench.
