About the Event

The San Diego Chapter is pleased to present its annual Introduction to Federal Courts MCLE event.  This introductory-level seminar is geared towards newly admitted attorneys and those with limited experience in federal court.  This event will feature the following panels:

1:00pm-1:45pm     United States Judge panel featuring Chief Judge Dana M. Sabraw 

                                       and U.S. Magistrate Judge Bernard G. Skomal

1:45pm-2:30pm     Federal Jursidiction and Venue, featuring James M. Wagstaffe, Esq.

2:30pm-3:00pm    Joining Your Legal Community panel featuring the members of the Lawyer Representatives 

                                      for the Southern District and the San Diego Chapter of the Federal Bar Association

3:00pm-3:05pm    Break

3:05pm-3:20pm    Clerk of Court with John Morrill

3:20pm-3:55pm    Civil Practictioner panel featuring FBA members Erick M. Acker of Morrison & Foerster, 

                                     Jenna M. Rangel of Haeggquist & Eck, LLP, and Assitant  United States Attorney Rebecca Church

3:55pm-4:30pm    Criminal Practicioner panel featuring FBA members Chloe S. Dillon of the Federal 

                                      Defenders of San Diego, Inc., Assitant United States Attorney Meghan Heesch, 

                                      and Martin G. Molina of the Law Office of Martin G. Molina    

Location:               Jury Assembly Room, James M. Carter and Judith N. Keep Courthouse.  Please note that space is    

                                   limited to the first 60 registrants.  Attendees will be required to follow the U.S. District Court's safety   

                                   precautions.
