Criminal Legal Skills Series – Part I: OSC Petitions & Proceedings


On February 22, 2022, the San Diego FBA presented Part I of its Two-Part Criminal Legal Skills Series: OSC Petitions and Proceedings. During this webinar, the panelists discussed the nuts and bolts of an OSC petition, including the filing process, the sealing of petitions, discovery, negotiations, contested hearings, and sentencing.


The panelists included the Hon. William Q. Hayes, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of California; Michelle Pettit, U.S. Attorney’s Office; Elana Fogel, Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc.; and Ymelda Valenzuela, U.S. Probation Office.
