On October 28, 2020, the San Diego Chapter presented "Remote Mediations: How to Effectively Negotiate and Settle Cases Remotely." Hosted on Zoom, the webinar shared insight for resolving cases remotely, including regarding client participation, reasons for investing in the remote process, and how to best resolve a dispute in a virtual setting.


The panel of speakers included the Hon. Michael S. Berg, a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Southern District; Abby B. Silverman, a mediator with JAMS; Deborah Dixon, a Partner at Dixon Diab & Chambers and Of Counsel with Gomez Trial Attorneys; and Melissa Holmes, a Senior Deputy Counsel from the Office of County Counsel for San Diego County. Steve Chu, an Assistant U.S. Attorney, moderated the panel. Webinar attendees submitted questions during the program. Approximately sixty-one people viewed this event live.
