Morgan Suder Receives Distinguished Service Award

The Federal Bar Association’s San Diego Chapter selected Morgan Suder as the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award at its 2021 Annual Conference & Award Ceremony.


The Distinguished Service Award recognizes distinguished service by an attorney, law firm, or organization to the San Diego and/or Imperial County communities. Such service includes service to the legal profession; service to the local community; service to education; service to equality, diversity, or inclusion; and/or service advancing access to justice. For example, recipients demonstrate service to the FBA or volunteer programs offered by the Southern District of California’s U.S. District Court and/or U.S. Bankruptcy Court and judiciary, such as the U.S. District Court’s Pro Bono Program, Open Doors to the Court, Credit Abuse Resistance Education (CARE), and mock trial programs.


As an active member of the San Diego legal community, Ms. Suder served on the FBA’s San Diego Chapter’s Board of Directors from 2016 to 2018. She also co-chaired the Chapter’s 2018 Equality in the Law Conference, 2019 Leadership in the Law Conference, and 2020 three-part series on Civility in the Law. In addition to her Chapter leadership, Ms. Suder has been a member of several San Diego law associations including Lawyers Club of San Diego, the San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and the Louis M. Welsh Inn of the American Inns of Court. She has also been a member of the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program’s Women and Families Resource Fair Task Force, as well as a volunteer instructor for Project LEAD, which is a law-related elementary education program.

Ms. Suder is an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Suder was an associate at Wilson Turner Kosmo LLP, where she represented employers in a variety of employment disputes. She also previously served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Anthony J. Battaglia in the Southern District of California and the Honorable J. Michael Seabright in the District of Hawaii.


The San Diego Chapter congratulates Ms. Suder on her award and thanks her for her tremendous service to the Chapter and the legal community.
