San Diego Chapter at Capitol Hill Day 2021

Updated: May 16, 2021

Throughout the week of May 3, 2021, the San Diego Chapter participated in the Federal Bar Association’s premier advocacy event of the year, Capitol Hill Day 2021. Chapter members Dylan M. Aste, Jenn French, Mary Cile Glover-Rogers, Alessandra P. Serano, and Sue Anna Yeh met virtually with members of Congress and their staff to represent the FBA’s interests as they pertain to the Southern District of California.

The offices of Senators Dianne Feinstein and Alex Padilla and House Representatives Darrell Issa, Sara Jacobs, Mike Levin, Scott Peters, and Juan C. Vargas heard about legislative proposals addressing the federal courts including enhanced security for federal judges and courthouses, additional judgeships in high-caseload jurisdictions, and responsible reform for federal court case records. The FBA also advocated for additional funding for federal courts, establishment of an independent immigration court, and amendments to the FBA’s charter. The FBA appreciates the opportunity to meet with our local lawmakers to advocate for improving the administration of justice.
