Reflecting on the San Diego Federal Bar Association's 2025 year, I could not be more proud of what we’ve accomplished.
In addition to our signature events like the Keep Federal Civil Practice Seminar, State of the District, and Courtroom Conversation Series, we coordinated programs and outreach efforts responsive to the times and our member’s needs—like "Know Federal Worker’s Rights," "Current State of Immigration Law, Policy, & Litigation," "The New Landscape: 2025 Sentencing Guidelines Amendments and Advocacy Strategies," and even sent letters to Capitol Hill in support of full funding for the Criminal Justice Act.
And, of course, who could forget Law Day—where nearly 300 members of the legal community came together for a special renewal of our attorney oaths, administered by Chief U.S. District Judge Cythia Bashant, to reaffirm our commitment to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law.
The FBA’s success this year would not have been possible without our dedicated, volunteer board members and committee members. They are truly the backbone of our organization, contributing their time and service to ensure the FBA remains thriving and a trusted force in our community.
Serving as President of the San Diego FBA has been a great honor and highlight of my career. Thank you for the privilege to serve. I have no doubt that the FBA will continue to shine in 2026 and beyond!
